Choice Hotels International on Wednesday unveiled the details of its new prototype of its midprice limited-service Sleep Inn brand.
Originally announced in development nearly a year ago at the hotel company’s annual convention, the prototype, available now, leans heavily on an update design dubbed “Scenic Dreams,” with new décor and designs in guest rooms and common areas and amenities geared toward guest wellness.
One existing Sleep Inn property in Round Rock, Texas, currently is renovating to the specifications of the prototype, Choice SVP of signature development Jason Cowan told BTN.
“Owners wanted to see efficiencies in the design,” Cowan said. “They wanted they wanted to make sure the back of the house was efficient and able to function well, that the elevators were strategically placed, that the laundry was strategically placed.”
The prototype includes a fitness center, free hot breakfast and a marketplace. Each Sleep Inn also includes a pool and free Wi-Fi, according to Choice.
Choice cited sustainability features of the prototype including “energy-efficient LED lighting, a linen and towel reuse program and low-flow shower heads and faucets,” and noted some properties will offer electric vehicle charging stations.
There are more than 500 Sleep Inn properties open or in the development pipeline, according to Choice. The company in recent years has developed prototypes for its Cambria and Comfort brands.
