Sézane Pippa Costume and Different Issues I Beloved in April 2023

I didn’t do a ton of shopping last month, but I’m very pleased with the products I did end up buying in April. I struck a good balance for myself when it came to spending and made a few really intentional purchases that offer both functional and emotional benefits (like this wrap organizer). And that’s really what this series is all about after all.

These are the seven things I loved most in April…

1. The Ordinary Squalane Oil

$10

This squalane oil is a great product for locking in hydration as the last step in my skin-care routine. I love the $10 price too—it doesn’t break the bank and it does the job well!

2. Sacred Spaces by Carley Summers (gifted)

$23

Carley is an incredibly talented online friend. I am loving her new interior design book, Sacred Spaces. This book includes beautiful photos of homes from around the world. It also includes interviews with the people who live in them, who offer stories about what home means to them and how they want to feel in their spaces.

I’ve always appreciated Carley’s openness about her origin story and why her job as an interior designer is about so much more than just aesthetics. I get the feeling she’s someone whose purpose in life and passion for interior design are totally aligned, and you can feel that in this beautiful book.

3. Jan Palombo Heart Stud Earrings

$76

Puffy heart jewelry is very much a trend right now, and I wanted to find a way to partake that still felt true to my own style. These heart stud earrings were just the ticket. They’re playful and really well-made.

4. The Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs by America’s Test Kitchen

$10

This cookbook was a gift from my mom to my kids. The recipes are really good and approachable for young kids, which makes it easier for them to help me in the kitchen. I have found that my strong-willed daughter in particular is very agreeable and helpful if I can find ways to invite her to do things alongside me. I’ve been trying to do just that lately when it comes to cooking and this book has been a great resource. Things go slower and an element of chaos is added, but it’s worth it to get to spend that kind of time with them!

5. Sézane Pippa Dress (gifted)

$160

I love how I feel in this dress! It’s so comfy it’s like I’m wearing pajamas, yet I still feel really put together while wearing it. I wore it out to drinks recently paired with these espadrilles, also from Sézane. The dress runs a little large in my experience, so consider sizing down if you’re in between sizes.

6. SpaceAid Wrap Organizer

$26+

This handy wrap organizer was another organization solution I found for my kitchen. It makes plastic wrap so much easier to cut and I appreciate how it contains multiple wraps in a neat and tidy way.

7. Williams Sonoma Silver Champagne Bucket

$200

I found some great things at the thrift store last month and a silver champagne/wine bucket was one of them! The champagne bucket shown above is really similar to the one I found while thrifting. I had been looking for something like this for a long time and plan to use it to hold chilled wine bottles during parties. This is a high-quality entertaining item I know I’ll use over and over again in the years to come.

Here are a few other similar options:

Crate & Barrel Wine/Champagne Bucket $60
Pottery Barn Monique Lhuillier Champagne Bucket $139 currently on sale for $118
Vintage Silver Punch Bowl via Etsy $225
