[SHOT 2025] New Springfield Echelon 4.0C 9mm Desert FDE & OD Inexperienced

With SHOT Show fully underway, we of course needed to check in with Springfield Armory to see what they have new for the show this year. For 2025, Springfield Armory has announced new colorways in their Echelon 4.0C 9mm pistol  with a Desert FDE (Flat Dark Earth) and OD Green (Olive Drab Green) option now available.

A Word from Springfield on the NEW Echelon 4.0C in Desert FDE & OD Green

As with any announcement, large or small, Springfield Armory is very excited to finally be able to share this news with all of us. They expand upon the new color options via their press release statement below:

Geneseo, Illinois – January 21st, 2025 – Springfield Armory® is proud to announce the release of the Echelon 4.0C 9mm in Desert FDE and OD Green, a duty-grade compact pistol engineered for carry.

At its launch in 2023, the full-size Echelon 4.5F set a new standard for modern, striker-fired duty pistols. The new Echelon 4.0C carries on this tradition, but with a shorter 4″ barrel and compact frame for enhanced concealability. With these color variants, EDC users have two new exciting options with this highly capable pistol.

Both the Desert FDE and OD Green Echelon 4.0C pistols feature slides with a tough Cerakote® finish matching the color of the frame. Cerakote’s advanced formulation has virtually eliminated the need to oil the exterior for corrosion protection, providing a more efficient and maintenance-free solution. This innovative coating not only enhances the durability and performance of firearms but also offers significant benefits in terms of longevity and ease of care, making it an invaluable asset in the world of firearm technology. Complementing the OD Green and Desert FDE finishes are black controls and a black Melonite® barrel.
