Simple Apple Cake Recipe with Recent Apples and Crunchy Walnuts

If you want your home to smell delectable, then baking apples, cinnamon and warm spices in this moist and easy apple cake recipe can help. This simple confectioners’ sugar dusted apple cake is light, tender and loaded with fresh apples along with a bit of crunchy chew from walnuts and molasses. This cake will become a family favorite before you know it. Therefore, let me show you how easy it is to make this large, fruit-filled cake.

Like all cakes with fresh apples, the most effort is peeling and dicing them. Otherwise, it is more about assembling all the ingredients and mixing together. Afterwards, it is just greasing the baking pan and loading the batter to send to the oven.

Though a lot of apple cakes are made in a tube pan, I prefer to bake this in a sheet cake pan about 13 x 9 x 2-inches. I found that the cake bakes sooner than waiting all that extra time for it to finally finish baking. Of course, you can also bake it in a tube pan, but keep that thought in mind.

Give this fresh apple cake recipe a try. If you do decide to bake it, please share my recipe with your family and friends.

Easy Apple Cake, Uncut

Easy Apple Cake Recipe

3 cups of sifted flour
3 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
½ cups walnuts, finely chopped
3 large apples, peeled and cut into small pieces (about one-inch dice)
3 tablespoons of milk
2 tablespoons of molasses
1-3/4 cups sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1 teaspoon of baking soda, leveled
1-1/4 cups of canola oil
Confectioners’ sugar for sprinkling over the top

Peel and dice your apples.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, oil, milk, molasses, and vanilla and mix thoroughly.

Sift together the flour and baking soda before stirring in the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.

Mix together the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients to incorporate.

Stir in the chopped walnuts and apples last.

Pour into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

Bake in a 350-degree oven for about one hour or until the apples are soft.

Test with a toothpick, slender knife or cake tester to see if anything sticks.

Allow to cool in the pan for about fifteen minutes before cutting.

Dust with confectioners’ sugar to top it.

ENJOY!
