A delicious and nutritious change for your breakfast table is this recipe for my apple cheese bread with a chewy crunch. This quick apple bread is moist and chalked full of extra protein from Cheddar cheese and walnuts besides the eggs that make it so satisfying. The taste is not overly sweet but the nutty flavor seems to dominate with subtle undertones of the cheese and apple within.
Reasons Why You’ll Love This Apple Cheddar Bread
First of all, it is so very good. This bread is wonderful to serve along with breakfast or when you need a fast snack.
Secondly, it is filling. You can eat a slice and feel full due to the nutrition this cheesy bread has.
Thirdly, it is a healthier bread for those that hunger for something sweet with less sugar than traditional quick sweet breads.
Furthermore, this apple bread with cheddar uses canola oil as an alternative instead of shortening or butter to avoid their saturated and trans fats, which can add up to increase cholesterol and weight.
For those watching their sodium intake, this apple cheese bread recipe is salt-free. Honestly, you do not miss salt in tasting this bread.
In addition, this nutty cheese bread is easy to make. The hardest part is grating the apples and cheddar if you don’t buy it grated. The rest is just mixing the ingredients before pouring into your well-greased loaf pan.
Finally, this recipe is a great way to use older apples before they go to waste.
I hope you try this wonderful bread because it is a keeper. If you do bake it, please share my recipe with your family and friends and come back to my blog for more.
Apple Cheese Bread Recipe
2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder, leveled
½ teaspoons of baking soda, leveled
½ cups of canola oil
2/3 cups of sugar
½ cups of shredded Cheddar cheese
2 large eggs
1 ½ cups of grated raw, peeled apples
½ cups of chopped walnuts
Sift together the flour, baking powder and baking soda in your mixing bowl.
Now add the eggs, sugar, oil, cheese to the mixing bowl and cream with your electric mixer until mixed through. It may look dry, but it moistens up once you stir in the grated apples.
Stir in the chopped walnuts last.
Pour into a well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan and bake in a 350-degree oven for about 50 to 60 minutes, depending on how your oven is regulated.
Test with a toothpick, slender knife or cake tester to see if anything sticks determining doneness.
Give this bread about five minutes before attempting to take the loaf out of the pan.
Slice this bread when cool.
ENJOY!
