Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia have agreed to expand frequencies between Jakarta, Indonesia, and Singapore, and plan to deepen their frequent-flyer partnership and introduce joint fare products in the first quarter of 2025, Singapore Airlines announced Tuesday.
Beginning Nov. 22, Singapore will operate eight daily roundtrip flights between the city state and Jakarta, up from six. Starting Dec. 1, Garuda will operate six daily roundtrip flights between the cities. These flights will be added to their codeshare agreement, which applies to flights between Singapore and four Indonesian cities (Denpasar, Jakarta, Medan and Surabaya), as well as on routes between Singapore and each London Heathrow and Mumbai.
The carrier also during Q1 2025 will allow Singapore’s KrisFlyer members and GarudaMiles members to earn and redeem miles on codeshare routes. In addition, following Singapore’s regulatory approval in July 2024 of their joint venture, Garuda and Singapore also in the first quarter will introduce joint fare products, which will enable customers to book flights operated by each airline between Singapore and each Denpasar, Jakarta and Surabaya within a single itinerary, according to Singapore.
