Skoda sales more than double year-on-year for the 2nd month running.
After April 2022 was down a ghastly -22.8% on the year prior, this year the Luxembourg market bounces back up 25% to 4,176 sales. The year-to-date volume is up 18% to 17,325. Volkswagen (+62.5%) surges ahead year-on-year on a low year-ago comparison set but keeps its market share below its YTD level at 10.7% vs. 11.6%. BMW (+10.7%) ranks #2 again with 9.1% share ahead of Mercedes (+18.1%) and Audi (+26.2%). Leader a year ago, Peugeot (-17.4%) is down to #5 this month, a ranking it also holds YTD. Skoda (+103.3%) once again posts the largest gain near the top of the charts with Kia (+72.6%) and Renault (+56.3%) also in outstanding shape. Fiat (-1.8%) struggles. Tesla (+2775%) posts yet another surreal gain to rank #13 and is up 70.3% year-to-date. Mini (+89.1%), Nissan (+82.2%), Hyundai (+50.6%) and Cupra (+42.3%) shine below.
