The Skoda Octavia leads the Slovak charts in March.
New car sales in Slovakia gain 18.4% in March to 8,852 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 11.2% to 22,155. Skoda (+57.9%) surges to 20.1% share, distancing Hyundai (-5.5%) back up two spots on February to #2 despite going against the positive market. Toyota (+18.3%) and Kia (+9.1%) are both down one rank on last month to #3 and #4 respectively. Suzuki (+61.7%) scores the largest uptick in the Top 10, with Mercedes (+36.9%) and Dacia (+29.3%) also in outstanding shape.
Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+459%) is up almost 6-fold year-on-year to take control of the charts both for the month and year-to-date. In fact the podium is 100% Skoda with the Kamiq (+127.1%) up to #2 and the Scala (+63.3%) up to #3. Leader last month, the Kia Ceed (-10.2%) drops to #4 while the Kia Sportage (+6.9%) is up four spots on February to round out the Top 5. The Skoda Karoq (+55.6%) and Dacia Duster (+36.4%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas the Skoda Fabia (-25.9%) and Hyundai Tucson (-13%) underperform.
