Short-term accommodation provider Sonder Holdings has named former Expedia Group executive Dominique Bourgault as chief financial officer, effective immediately, the company announced Monday.
Bourgault replaces the company’s previous CFO, Sanjay Banker, who departed the position Jan. 1 but remains on Sonder’s board of directors.
Bourgault joins Sonder from Blue Nile, Inc., an online retail company specializing in fine jewelry, where he served as CFO. Prior to Blue Nile, Bourgault worked for 18 years with Expedia Group.
The news follows Sonder’s announcement last week that it would lay off 14 percent of its workforce to pursue its goal of becoming cash-flow positive without additional fundraising.
“I’m thrilled to join Sonder at a pivotal moment in the company’s evolution as we work to drive long-term value for our investors and stakeholders,” Bourgault said in a statement.
