Short-term accommodation provider Sonder has appointed
former Choice Hotels International sales executive Chad Fletcher as VP of sales
effective immediately, the company announced on Wednesday.
Fletcher joins Sonder from his role as VP of global sales
with Choice, where he worked for more than five years, according to his LinkedIn page. Prior to Choice,
Fletcher was VP of sales at car rental company Avis Budget Group, where he
worked for nearly eight years.
With Sonder, Fletcher will lead the company’s corporate
travel strategy—a subdivision Sonder formally introduced in
2021—with plans to “scale all segments of corporate travel, including
corporate housing, group and business transient,” Sonder chief revenue
officer Shruti Challa said in a statement.
The news follows Sonder’s entrance into the hotel collection
space with the launch of Powered by Sonder in
July, and on the heels of the company’s second-quarter rate decreases
reported in
August.
Fletcher is Sonder’s second VP of sales, following Kristen
Richter who worked with the company for more than two years before departing
for Accor’s luxury and lifestyle division.
