Ingredients

  • Strawberries – Frozen or fresh strawberries work great.
  • Banana – Frozen and sliced or just frozen work great.
  • Milk – I used Fairlife milk. Use any type of milk you like such as nondairy milk, coconut milk or soy milk.
  • Yogurt – I love using Greek yogurt in my smoothies.
  • Honey – Honey or agave syrup is optional to add a little sweetness. You can also use a little maple syrup if you prefer.

Instructions

In a blender, combine frozen strawberries, banana, milk, yogurt and honey. Blend until fully smooth. Serve with an optional garnish of Strawberry Shortcake Crunch or a fresh strawberry.

Tips for Making

  • Natural Sweetness – We love a natural sweetener. My favorite ways to add sweetness to a smoothie are honey, agave, maple syrup or a pitted date.
  • Healthy Boosts – Add a spoonful of collagen powder, some ground flax seeds, a scoop of sea moss gel, liquid hyaluronic acid or chia seeds to add some fiber. You may also add a scoop of protein powder if you like.
  • Vegan – If you want to make this into a vegan recipe, choose a dairy-free milk (such as oat milk, almond milk or cashew milk), use a vegan yogurt (such as coconut yogurt) and replace honey with agave syrup.
  • Other Fruits – Add a scoop of frozen raspberries, frozen blueberries or frozen mango to create a different flavor.
  • Creamy Texture – Make sure your blender blade is sharp. I use my blender almost daily so every few years I need to purchase a new blender pitcher with a fresh blade.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a strawberry smoothie contain?

Our strawberry smoothie recipe is made with strawberries, banana, milk, yogurt and honey.

Is a strawberry smoothie healthy?

Yes. Strawberries are rich in vitamin C. Bananas are rich in potassium. This recipe has no added sugar and can be easily modified for any dietary preferences.

Do you put ice in a smoothie?

While there is nothing wrong with throwing a few ice cubes into your smoothie before blending, ice is not necessary. When you use frozen fruit (even just frozen banana) there is no longer any need for ice.
