Street-rager who went viral is heading to courtroom

A driver caught on camera during an aggressive road rage incident received instant karma and has now been slapped with criminal charges.

According to News.com.au, the 22-year old Dandenong man who was the centre of a road rage incident in Clayton – in Melbourne’s South East – has been charged with various offences.

“Investigators have been told a man approached a car on the Princes Highway near Clayton Road about 12.30pm in an aggressive manner,” a spokeswoman from Victoria Police told News.com.au.

“As he was remonstrating with the driver police approached the 22-year-old. He ran from the scene leaving his vehicle and passenger behind.

“He later handed himself in to police and has been charged with criminal damage, unlawful assault and traffic offences. He has been bailed to attend Moorabbin Justice Centre on February 6,” she continued.

The video went viral after being published on Dash Cam Owners Australia’s X (formerly known as Twitter) page on November 4.

The short video shows the alleged driver steering into the right lane and opening his door before his vehicle has even come to a complete stop.

The driver then gets out of the car and starts signalling to the occupants of the vehicle behind to come closer.

The man comes up to the driver’s side door and continues to yell, but what he is saying however is hard to make out over the metal music blaring from the camera owner’s vehicle.

The man then starts walking back to his car, just as local police start to run after him. The video then ends abruptly, but now we know the denouement.
