Hollywood actor Alan Ruck – best known for his roles in Succession, Spin City and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – has allegedly crashed his Rivian R1T ute into two cars before ploughing into a restaurant.
KTLA 5 reports the incident occurred around 9pm on Halloween (October 31) at the intersection of La Brea Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard – near the west end of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame – in Los Angeles.
Footage published by KTLA 5 shows Mr Ruck’s R1T rear-ending a vehicle stopped at a red light on La Brea Avenue before crashing into another vehicle on Hollywood Boulevard and landing in a nearby restaurant.
The scene involved three vehicles. Mr Ruck’s R1T rear-ended a sedan stopped at a traffic light, pushing it into an oncoming vehicle.
The Rivian then crashed into the wall of Raffalo’s Pizza and landed in the bathrooms.
“The good thing is, nobody was inside of the restroom,” said Raffallo’s restaurant owner Walter Rosales to KCAL News.
“It was really hard last night, all the people that were crying … because they know us, they know [us] for so many years, they were crying and giving thanks to God because we were alive,” he continued.
“The whole building shook and I thought a bomb or something had exploded,” witness Tim Ratcliff told KTLA 5.
Mr Ratcliff reportedly rushed to the aid of the actor, who was concerned for the welfare of others, before his own.
“I asked him, ‘Are you okay?’ And the first thing out of his mouth was, ‘Is everyone [else] okay? I think I hit someone. Is he okay?”
According to Mr Ratcliff, the actor didn’t know why he crashed.
KTLA 5 reports Mr Ruck was “apparently uninjured” and is “speaking with authorities”.
The Los Angeles Fire Department told KTLA 5 a 32-year old male was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Los Angeles Police Department detectives told KCAL News they don’t believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
The restaurant has reportedly been taped up to allow for an assessment of any damage to its structural integrity.
