The Suzuki Alto holds 42.1% of the Pakistani market this month.
The Pakistani new light vehicle market continues its freefall in October at -53.8% to a measly 6,180 units, bringing the year-to-date volume down -63.4% to 69,927. Note Changan and Kia do not report sales figures to PAMA but are reported to be quite successful here. Suzuki (-52.4%) falls slightly slower than the market to reach a gargantuan 61.7% share vs. 45.4% so far this year, well above Toyota (-69%) at 16.9% vs. 26.2% year-to-date. Hyundai (+13.6%) defies the negative market and overtakes Honda (-67.8%) to rank third overall. Sazgar Haval (+110%) celebrates one year in market with a strong 4.1% share thanks to its unique model the H6. Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto (-37.8%) hits a record 42.1% share, eclipsing the 41.7% it reached back in September 2019. The Toyota Corolla and Yaris are estimated to follow ahead of the Suzuki Cultus (-70.9%) and Swift (-76.7%). The Sazgar Haval H6 climbs five spots on September to a best-ever #6. We welcome the Hyundai Santa Fe at #10 with 2.8% share.
