One in three new light vehicles registered in May is a Suzuki Alto.
The Pakistani wholesales market continues its freefall in May at -76.9% year-on-year to 5,290 units, which means the year-to-date volume is now off -68.6% to 36,043. This is linked with lingering production hiccups linked with the non-availability of CKD parts amid Letter of Credit issues. Suzuki (-75.8%) reclaims the brands top spot off Toyota (-70.8%) with 55.9% share vs. 32.5% for Toyota. Hyundai (-70.6%), Honda (-97%) and Isuzu (-42.1%) follow. Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto (-65.2%) rises to 36% share vs. 16.2% so far this year, ahead of four Toyotas: the Hilux, Corolla, Fortuner and Yaris.
