The Tesla Model 3 is by far the best-selling vehicle in Portugal in November.
The Portuguese new car market edges up 3.5% year-on-year in November to 15,769 sales, bringing the year-to-date total up 29.3% to 182,988. We have a thunderstrike atop the brands ranking this month: Tesla (+226.2%) surges to pole position with a sensational 11.2% share vs. #9 and 4.5% year-to-date. Its previous record was #2 and 8.9% share last August. Mercedes (+7.1%) is up three spots on last month to #2 with Dacia (-9.9%) down but holding strong at 8.1% share vs. 7.4% so far this year. BMW (+32.7%) is down one rank to #4 while the YTD #1, Peugeot (-24%) is in difficulty at #5. Hyundai (+101.7%), Toyota (+63.1%) and Seat (+47.6%) also shine.
The Tesla Model 3 (+1490.8%) is up 256 spots on October to snap the highest ranking this month with a phenomenal 7.7% share. It distances the leader of the past two months, the Dacia Sandero (-29.9%). Tesla also places the Model Y (+17.8%) in third position. The Peugeot 2008 (-32.6%) is stuck at #4 but remains the year-to-date best-seller. Below, both the Hyundai i20 (+330.5%) and Dacia Jogger (+266.3%) surge ahead to #5 and #6 respectively. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+1003.7%) and BMW 1 Series (+35.2%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10.
