First Top 40 finish for the Xpeng G9 in Denmark.
Danish new car sales lift 21.9% year-on-year in October to 13,233 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 14.4% to 137,229. Volkswagen (-28.1%) freefalls but manages to snap the brands pole position with 8% share, that’s way below its YTD level of 9.7%. Peugeot (+103.3%) soars to #2 vs. #6 YTD, distancing Audi (+7.8%) and Mercedes (+0.1%) both vastly trailing the market. Toyota (-27.8%) sinks at #5 unlike Skoda (+26.2%) at #6. Leader last month and year-to-date, Tesla (+2194.1%) shows here too it is fast abandoning its backloaded quarters. Citroen (+120.7%), Opel (+96.9%), Cupra (+81.5%) and Hyundai (+66.2%) are also in outstanding shape. Below, Chinese fare Xpeng (+2625%) rises to its best volume, share and ranking yet at #22.
Model-wise, despite being a start of quarter month the Tesla Model Y (+2817.4%) still manages to keep the top spot with 5.1% share, reinforcing its year-to-date leadership at 9.7% of the market vs. 3.9% for the #2, the Peugeot 208 (+247.4%) which also ranks #2 for the month. In fact the entire Top 5 is identical to the year-to-date order and all Top 9 models produce phenomenal gains. The Ford Kuga (+85.7%), Citroen C3 (+248.7%) and Opel Corsa (+185.2%) complete the Top 5 above the Skoda Enyaq (+167.9%), Peugeot 2008 (+1440%), Volvo XC40 (+115.6%) and Audi Q2 (+201.3%). Further down, the new Xpeng G9 skyrockets 87 spots on September to land at #39.
