Data by SMMT has the Greater London new car market up 16.8% year-on-year in 2023 to 85,455 sales. The Tesla Model Y (+29.6%) cements its lead in the models charts, now selling more than double any other model in market. The MG 4 surges from outside the 2022 Top 10 directly to 2nd place while the Nissan Qashqai (+27.9%) and Mini (+21.6%) both post solid gains but remain at #3 and #4 respectively. The Kia Niro (-46%) is the big loser atop the ranking, after two years at #2 it drops three spots to #5. The Ford Puma (+32%) is up four ranks to #6 and the Audi A3 and Kia Sportage enter the Top 10. Notice also the Tesla Model 3 (-14%) down three spots to #8.
