Spicy Banana Bars

1 cup of sifted flour
3/4 cups of sugar
½ teaspoons of baking powder, leveled
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, leveled
½ teaspoons of salt
3/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon of allspice
1/4 cup of canola oil
1/3 cup of mashed ripe banana (about 1 small)
1 unbeaten large egg
1/4 cup of milk
1/3 cup of chopped walnuts

Lemon Glaze

2 tablespoons of melted butter
1 tablespoon hot water
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 cup of sifted confectioners’ sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350-degrees. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Sift Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the canola oil, mashed banana, milk, and egg.
