The place to Keep for the Inauguration in Montgomery County


As the nation’s capital buzzes with anticipation for this 2025 Inauguration on January 20th, there’s no better place to stay than Montgomery County, Maryland. Nestled just outside of Washington, D.C., Montgomery County offers proximity to the festivities and a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. We’ve pulled together hotels within the county for people who plan to stay the preceding weekend to the Tuesday after the Inauguration.

Closest to DC

Here are hotels that are close to the Washington, D.C. line. Silver Spring, Bethesda, and Takoma Park, MD all touch the border. Take an Uber, or Metro Bus or ride the Metro Red Line into the district.

3. Marriott Bethesda Downtown at Marriott HQ

Things to Do: Explore Bethesda Row, the ultimate high-end shopper’s destination. Eat from diverse eateries like Spanish Diner, True Food Kitchen, or The Salt Line. Experience a performance at Round House Theatre or watch a movie at Landmark’s Bethesda Row Cinema.

Access to the Metro Red Line

Don’t get caught up in heavy traffic going towards DC. Take the Metro Red Line from Montgomery County, MD to get you into the heart of the nation’s capital.

You don’t have to venture into city life, there are options for people who want to stay in a quieter suburban environment.
