Whether you call it photoaging, solar damage, photo damage or sun damage, the result is the same with how the sun’s rays risk the skin to skin cancer and accelerate the aging process. If you want a healthier option for your face and body that also is enriched with skin nurturing ingredients as well as mineral and organic filters, then Topology Paris can fulfill that need with the two new SPF 50 sunscreens for face and body that I recently sampled for this review.

Their Rayons-1003 is this luxury vegan skin care brand’s SPF 50 Face Cream ($42.90). This product has beneficial hyaluronic acid to supply that needed moisture and aloe vera for soothing, healing, moisturizing, and its antiseptic properties. In addition, it has limonium extract from sea lavender that offers extraordinary antioxidant protection against free radicals that are responsible for photoaging.
This natural sunscreen uses a mineral filter to physically block the sun’s UV rays on the skin in the form of titanium dioxide. It can safeguard the face against both UV and UVB rays in a creamy mattifying formula without nanoparticles. According to the research, these nanoparticles in such products can cause brain or liver damage to compromising the body’s immune system.
Besides a mineral filter, this vegan sunscreen has four organic filters for the prevention of aging prematurely. These protect the skin in a different way by directly absorbing the sun’s ray instead of allowing them to penetrate the skin.
This face SPF comes out of the tube as a white cream. The skin absorbs it easily without leaving any thick white patches that some mineral sunscreens with titanium dioxide can have or feeling overly greasy.
The Rayons-2003 is the Topology Paris SPF 50 Body Cream ($32.20), which has broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. It also has both the mineral filter of titanium dioxide and organic filters along with aloe vera in a lightweight cream formula. It does disappear into the skin without any sticky, tacky feel.
Both of these sunscreens are not waterproof and are suitable for all skin types. They do need to be reapplied every two hours if you’re planning to spend a lot of time outdoors in the sun, sweating or after swimming.
My skin can be sensitive at times, but these products are quite gentle in my opinion. My skin had no problem wearing them.
My advice is to check out Topology Paris and both of these new sunscreens for their assistance with photoaging prevention and that essential summer skin care protection.
