Having some leftover ham in the freezer, I decide to invent a new dish for dinner. The result of my experimenting was this deliciously different ham and pasta recipe. Though simple as it may be what does set this ham spaghetti apart is the perfect pairing of ham in an olive oil sauce that is seasoned beautifully with prepared mustard, basil, red pepper flakes, coriander, and just a little Parmesan cheese. In this post, I’ll show you how easy it is to put a small amount of ham and create a light and tasty meal along with some tips and tricks for a successful outcome.
This recipe is a great way to save time when you are extra busy or tired after a long day and still need to cook something for the family. This spaghetti dish with ham can be a lifesaver also when you are out of ideas of what to with that remaining little bit of ham you may have on hand.
Tips and Tricks for This Pasta
- If you don’t have ham, you can always substitute canned ham if you prefer, such as Spam. However, you also use tuna or salmon, chicken or beef, if you want to change that protein.
- I like lots of onion, but you can always use a small onion without ruining this recipe.
- I used to cook with Dijon mustard, but switched to plain prepared mustard. The reason I did this was it contributed a slightly sweeter taste to recipes. However, you can also substitute Dijon mustard if that appeals to you more.
I hope that you decide to cook my ham and pasta recipe. Honestly, I think that you will love this dish once you sample it. Feel free to share it with your family and friends and do come back to my blog for more helpful posts and recipes.
