The most anticipated attraction opening at Disney World in 2024 has to be Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. And now we have exact opening date so you can plan your summer trips accordingly.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which replaces the Splash Mountain attraction in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, will open to guests on June 28.
Those with a Walt Disney World annual pass or Disney Vacation Club membership who are hoping for a sneak preview of the ride will need to sit tight until May 14, when additional information on that process will be released.

The log flume ride — and its five-story drop — that were present when the ride was themed as Splash Mountain will remain, but the theme, setting and story of the ride when it opens next month will all be new. The ride’s new storyline takes place after “The Princess and the Frog” movie.

Disney shares that it will be set during Mardi Gras season and that guests can expect a bayou full of music, magic and new friends, including a raccoon, rabbit and beaver. There will also be popular characters from the film in the form of all-new animatronics that will be voiced by the stars that brought them to life, including Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana.
On the ride, you can expect all-new music and some favorite hits from “The Princess and the Frog.”
Disney has also shared that the scent of frying beignets will be in the attraction’s queue, which seems only appropriate for the French Quarter setting.
The former Splash Mountain attraction at Disneyland in California is also currently closed and transforming into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on the West Coast. Disney shares that the project’s opening timeline in Anaheim is “later in 2024.”
That means those looking to step into Tiana’s world as soon as possible should target a trip to Disney World in Florida this summer, as we are “almost there” to our first float down the bayou. Stay tuned for additional information on whether this ride will utilize a virtual queue, if it will be available for purchase as an individual Lightning Lane and other access rules and tips.
