Toyota GR Supra recalled | CarExpert

Toyota Australia is recalling one example of the GR Supra as the case joint welding in the automatic transmission may allow transmission fluid to penetrate the control computer, resulting in a short circuit.

This recall affects one current-generation Toyota GR Supra produced on February 1, 2023.

“Supra vehicles are equipped with an automatic transmission that includes a control computer,” said the company in its recall notice.

“Due to an improper manufacturing process, the case joint welding may be defective. This possible defective welding may allow transmission fluid to penetrate the control computer resulting in a short circuit, which in the worst case the vehicle may lose drive power while driving.”

  • A total of one vehicle is affected

The one vehicle affected by this recall is currently registered to a Toyota dealer. Toyota Australia is working with the dealer to arrange a rectification of this vehicle.
