Toyota Kijang Innova #1 once more, Honda Brio now #1 year-to-date – Finest Promoting Automobiles Weblog


The Toyota Kijang Innova is the best-selling vehicle in Indonesia for the 4th straight month

October wholesales in Indonesia drop -13.9% year-on-year in October to just 80,270 units, leading to a year-to-date cume down -1.8% to 836,048. Retail sales fare better at -11.4% to 79,451 for the month and 0.4% year-to-date to 825,691.

In the wholesales brands ranking, market leaders Toyota (-18.7%) and Daihatsu (-19.4%) fall faster than the market to 32.4% and 17.6% share respectively. In contrast Honda (+19.8%) scores the only year-on-year gain in the Top 10 at #3. Mitsubishi (-2.8%) and Hyundai (-13.5%) keep their losses below the market rate but Hino (-19.2%), Suzuki (-21.8%), Isuzu (-22.4%), Wuling (-26.5%) and Mitsubishi Fuso (-29.9%) all sink. Below, BMW (+111.4%) and Lexus (+150.6%) surge ahead while newcomer Chery is down one spot on last month to #14. Retail-wise, Toyota (-7.3%) and Daihatsu (-10.9%) this time gain share year-on-year with Mitsubishi (-4.4%), Hino (-7.4%) and Wuling (-11.1%) also doing so. BMW (+42.9%), Lexus (+147.5%) and Mini (+120%) stand out below with Chery up one rank to #13.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Kijang Innova (+112.2%) is the best-seller for the fourth time in a row and advances to #3 year-to-date. The Honda Brio (+9.1%) stays at #2 and accesses the year-to-date pole position as a result. Note the Brio was also #1 over the Full Year 2022. It topples the Daihatsu Sigra (+35.8%) down to #4 for the month. Meanwhile the Toyota Avanza (+6.5%) is up one spot on September to #3 but falls to #4 year-to-date. The Daihatsu Terios (+80.4%) soars 11 ranks on last month to #8 but all remaining Top 10 members fall faster than the market, with the Toyota Rush (-53.4%) and Daihatsu Gran Max Pikap (-48.6%) the hardest hit. The Honda WR-V (#14) is the most popular recent launch ahead of the Toyota Yaris Cross (#29).
