Toyota lastly offers HiLux an influence enhance… in Thailand

Toyota Thailand has revealed a number of wild-looking HiLux ute concepts among other vehicle concepts at this year’s Bangkok Auto Salon which ran from June 28 to July 2.

All these HiLux concepts shown at this 2023 Bangkok Auto Salon are based on the current-generation model that has been in production since 2015, and is sold as the HiLux Revo there.

Here’s a full rundown of all these crazy Toyota HiLux concepts and the modifications they have received.

HiLux Revo Twin Turbo

Toyota Thailand revealed a number of low-rider HiLux concepts at the 2023 Bangkok Auto Salon, with one of the most notable being this concept called the Revo Twin Turbo.

This concept is powered by a modified 2.4-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with twin turbos that can produce “more than 300 horsepower”, or 224kW of power – effectively line-ball with the old supercharged petrol V6-powered TRD HiLux.

For context, the most powerful version of the local current-generation range is the forthcoming HiLux GR Sport which is powered by a larger 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with 165kW and 550Nm.

Modifications to the HiLux Revo Twin Turbo concept’s engine include a USA Racing intercooler, BRD titanium exhaust, and a PRC wastegate.

Other modifications include 18-inch alloy wheels, Aztec Force drag spec shock absorbers, Auto Max suspension.

HiLux Revo Dragster

The most powerful concept Toyota Thailand showed off at the 2023 Bangkok Auto Salon was a dragster version of a low-rider HiLux.

Claimed to produce 500hp (373kW) “without difficulty”, the HiLux Revo Dragster concept is powered by a 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with a modified cylinder head, piston crank, ECU, turbo, intercooler, exhaust, common rail pumps, and injectors.

There are also alloy wheels wrapped in slick tyres, tweaked shock absorbers, Kevlar seats with a racing seat belt, six-point roll bar, and a Momo steering wheel.

HiLux Revo 54th

This particular HiLux concept is one of the wildest-looking ones Toyota displayed at the 2023 Bangkok Auto Salon.

Highlight modifications include a wide-body kit with flared wheel arches, redesigned front bumper, steel rear bumper, 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in mud-terrain tyres, and a TJM suspension lift kit.

There’s also a bonnet scoop, upgraded front and rear shock absorbers, 2-inch wheel spacers, underbody protection, an LED light bar, and electric side steps.

HiLux Revo Hi Performance & Style

This concept is a little more toned down from the HiLux Revo 54th, but it still retains its tough off-roading look.

It has a body kit design by Arto Sports with wider wheel arches, roof spoiler and reworked tailgate.

Other modifications include 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama tyres, a steel rear bumper, reworked springs and shock absorbers, tuned ECU, and a Arto Sports side-exit exhaust.

HiLux Revo Z Runner

The last and arguably the most subtle HiLux concept is the HiLux Revo Z Runner with minimal upgrades.

It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, side steps and a rear Z Runner sticker.

In addition to the HiLux concepts, Toyota Thailand revealed concepts based on the Fortuner, Corolla sedan, Veloz, and Yaris.
