… as does the MG 4.

Renault (+51.8%) ends the month in pole position again, compensating for a low year-ago basis, but Peugeot (+11.4%) is only 600 units below. Both carmakers have lower shares than YTD. Dacia (+19.7%) can’t quite match the market growth but remains solid in third place with 9.3% share. Citroen (-7.6%) returns to #4 despite a woeful year-on-year evolution. Toyota (+7.1%) reclaims the title of best-selling foreign marque over Volkswagen (+21.2%). Tesla (+460.6%) posts a phenomenal uptick and reaches #7 with 4.7% share vs. 3.1% year-to-date where it also ranks 7th. BMW (+30.6%) is the only additional Top 10 member beating the market with Kia (+17.2%) and Hyundai (+14.6%) almost at exactly the same volume. MG (+242.4%) equals its highest market share ever at 2.1%, also reached in June.

Model-wise, the Peugeot 208 (+31.8%) is back above the Renault Clio (+139.3%) but remains #2 year-to-date. The Citroen C3 (-7.1%) drives past the Dacia Sandero (+2.1%) with a stumbling Peugeot 2008 (-13%) in 5th place. Just two units below, the Tesla Model Y (+334.6%) is up spectacularly to end the month in 6th place and now ranks #9 year-to-date. The locally-made Toyota Yaris Cross (+56%) surges ahead to break its ranking record at #7 and its market share record at 2.3%. It distances the Dacia Duster (+15.7%), Renault Captur (+56%) and Peugeot 308 (+15.3%) all beating the market. The Tesla Model 3 (+785.5%) is up 21 spots on July to just miss out on a Top 10 finish at #11. The Dacia Jogger (+79.8%) is up to its 2nd best monthly ranking at #13, while the MG 4 breaks its ranking (#17) and share (1.4%) records this month. The Renault Austral is down 4 spots on July to #18 but remains above its main competitor the Peugeot 3008 (#22).

Previous month: France July 2023: Renault (+35.1%), Toyota (+52.6%) stand out, Toyota threatens Citroen for #5
