Last year, American Airlines partnered with motorcoach service Landline to develop connections between Philadelphia International Airport and nearby airports. Two such routes, between Philadelphia and each Lehigh Valley and Atlantic City international airports, have been approved by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration.
Beginning this week, travelers can arrive at either airport, check-in with American, clear security, then board their coach on the secure side of the terminal. At the Philadelphia airport, they can proceed directly to connecting flights without having to go through security again. The same service is available for the reverse direction.
Checked baggage will be transferred between Landline vehicles and American’s network, and members of American’s AAdvantage loyalty program also can earn miles and loyalty points when traveling on Landline-operated routes, according to the coach company.
Landline coaches accommodate up to 35 passengers with leather seating, free Wi-Fi, streaming entertainment and power outlets at each seat, according to the company.
