Ugly Stik GX2 Spinning Rod Wins the 2024 Angler’s Choice Award

If you’re like most fishermen, it’s all about the budget! I grew up using an Ugly Stik and believe that it’s one of those rods that you really can’t go wrong with. Very few people can say anything negative about the Ugly Stik GX2 because you know what you’re getting.

This rod gets the job done at an affordable price. But, with the introduction of the new GX2 design, Shakespeare has taken the GX2 to the next level.

So it’s no surprise that fishermen across the country have voted in the third annual Angler’s Choice Award competition and have selected the Ugly Stik GX2 as their top choice. There were 41 New Product Showcase Best of Category winning products that debuted at ICAST in July. Of those products, the new GX2 came out on top.

The new Ugly Stik GX2 is jam-packed with features that make it even tougher than previous models. In addition to its renowned Ugly Tech construction and Clear Tip design the GX2 now features Ugly Tuff guides with a proprietary guide coating to line flow, an extra durable rubberized diamond EVA handle for better grip and improved durability, and new reel seat designed for better hand feel and increased sensitivity. All of these features are now packed under a 10-year warranty.

“We are very honored that the new Ugly Stik GX2 won the ICAST 2024 Anglers’ Choice Award,” said Sherri Gasparon, Director of Brand & Product for Ugly Stik. “The Ugly Stik brand is dedicated to delivering the strongest, most sensitive rods for anglers and the new GX2 delivers on this promise while still having the same unbreakable spirit. We know our loyal Ugly Stik anglers will absolutely love it. Thank you to all who voted for the GX2 as this year’s Anglers’ Choice!”
