United Airlines has promoted Michael Leskinen to EVP and CFO,
effective immediately, the company announced Friday. He succeeds Gerry
Laderman, who earlier
this year announced his upcoming retirement. Laderman will continue at
United until September 2024 as EVP of finance.
Leskinen most recently had been VP of corporate development
and investor relations as well as president of United Airlines Ventures, the
corporate venture capital arm of the carrier focused on sustainable aviation. The
division in February created a Sustainable
Flight Fund of $100 million and doubled it to nearly $200
million by July with the addition of eight new partners.
Prior to joining United in 2018, Leskinen was an executive
director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management and also worked at Oppenheimer Funds,
according to the carrier.
