United Airlines has unveiled a new domestic first-class seat that includes a wireless charging station in each arm rest, the carrier announced Wednesday.
The seat also will feature a 5-inch recline range, an adjustable aisle arm rest, vegan leather upholstery, 13-inch seatback screens, 18-inch tray tables, Bluetooth connectivity, an ergonomist-designed seat cushion and privacy screens, according to United. In addition, customers will be able to charge multiple devices at the same time with the wireless option along with an AC household-style outlet and a USB-C outlet.
The new seat will debut this month on United’s first Boeing 737 followed with a continued rollout through summer. The airline expects the new seat to be on 200 domestic planes by 2026, including Boeing 737NG, Airbus A321neo and Boeing 737 Max aircraft. Further, United plans to update existing domestic first-class seats on more than 200 planes by 2025 with the new seat cushions, upholstery and winged headrests.
