United’s Dulles Hub to Get $500M Revamp

United Airlines’ hub at Washington Dulles International Airport is about to get an upgrade of more than $500 million, the airline announced Tuesday.

In partnership with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and with funding from local and federal authorities, United will invest in the revamp, which will include the construction of Concourse E, dedicated to United and which will include 435,000 square feet, 14 gates, a new 40,000-sq.-ft. United Club location, and “direct and easy access” to the airport’s existing Aerotrain station, according to United.

The new concourse currently is expected to debut in late 2026.

United didn’t specify its investment amount, but noted the Dulles expansion and modernization is in line with similar investments at airport facilities at Denver, Houston and Newark, N.J., and is part of the airline’s United Next plan.
