Volkswagen sales skyrocket year-on-year in May.
The Moroccan new light vehicle market is back in positive for the first time this year at +12.4% to 14,725 sales, including 13,330 Passenger Cars and 1,393 Light Commercials, both up 12.4%. Dacia (-4.6%) remains by far the most popular carmaker in the country despite not capitalising on the market growth. In contrast the next four brands all beat the market: Volkswagen (+164.5%) is the most dynamic ahead of Renault (+40.1%), Hyundai (+33.4%) and Peugeot (+16.7%). At #6, Opel (-2%) ensures the Top 6 brands are unchanged on April and YTD. Below, notice Skoda (+90.5%), Jeep (+75.9%) and Land Rover (+46.5%) in great shape. Newcomers Cupra and MG climb to #21 and #22 respectively.
