The Toyota Yaris is the best-selling vehicle in Cyprus in August.
According to data shared with us by SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, the Cyprus new car market is up 14.3% year-on-year in August, meaning the year-to-date volume is now up 27.5% to 10,055. This month Volkswagen (+18.4%) takes the brands lead, leaping up six spots on July to #1. Toyota (-13%) stays 2nd with 14.5% of the market while Kia (+300%) surges year-on-year but drops from 28.7% share in July to 10.3% in August. Below Hyundai (-9.3%), the next six best-selling carmakers all beat the market growth rate: Renault (+136.4%) is the most dynamic followed by Nissan (+93.3%), Skoda (+89.5%), Porsche (+61.1%), Audi (+48.3%) and Volvo (+18.9%).
Model-wise, the Toyota Yaris (+21.7%) snaps the top spot both for the month and year-to-date vs. #3 over the first 7 months of the year. The Kia Rio (+1666.7%) surges ahead at #2 while the VW T-Roc (+50%) and T-Cross (+258.3%) shine below. The Volvo XC40 (+37.9%) rounds out the Top 5 distancing the VW Taigo (+91.7%), Toyota Corolla (+66.7%) and Nissan Qashqai (+133.3%).
