Volkswagen edges previous BMW in market hovering 23.9% – Finest Promoting Vehicles Weblog

Volkswagen is the most popular carmaker in Belgium for the first time since last September.

The Belgian new car market improves by an outlandish 23.9% year-on-year in February to 39,883 units. This leads to a year-to-date volume up 20.5% to 79,730. A rarity these days, Volkswagen (+49.6%) edges past BMW (+36.4%) for just 23 sales to claim its first monthly win since last September and only its third in the past 17 months. BMW remains the year-to-date best-seller. Peugeot (+20.3%), Audi (+15.3%) and Mercedes (+6%) close out the Top 5 but all trail the market, as do Toyota (+12.1%) and Renault (-15.4%) below. The next four carmakers all beat the market and improve their share year-on-year, with Skoda (+73.9%) the most dynamic above Volvo (+32%), Dacia (+31.1%) and Opel (+29.9%). Notice also Cupra (+505.5%), Land Rover (+224.3%), Suzuki (+116.5%) and Tesla (+58.3%) all in excellent shape.

Previous month: Belgium January 2023: Volvo (+42.3%), Mercedes (+40.8%) stand out in strong market (+17.4%)

One year ago: Belgium February 2022: BMW leader for the 9th time in the past 12 months, market off -11.9%
