Volkswagen overtakes BMW, volumes up 48.7% – Greatest Promoting Vehicles Weblog

Volkswagen is the most popular carmaker in Belgium in June.

The Belgian market continues to evolve at markedly higher levels than in 2022 with June sales up a fantastic 48.7% year-on-year to 51,760. The H1 2023 volume stands at 264,475 units, up 35.4% on the same period a year ago. This month Volkswagen (+79.3%) snaps the brands top spot off BMW (+31%) for the first time since last February, climbing to 10.2% share vs. 9.1% so far this year. Peugeot (+8.4%) is very shy at #3 but Volvo (+175%), Dacia (+85.7%) and Renault (+79.6%) all outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Audi (+48.1%) matches the overall sales growth whereas Toyota (+30.6%) and Kia (+26.9%) are weak. Tesla (+281.2%) posts yet again a surreal year-on-year uptick and ends the month at #12 vs. #15 year-to-date.
