New car sales in Luxembourg dip -5.2% year-on-year in 2022 to 42,094 units. Volkswagen (-3.9%) evolves roughly like the market and holds a 11.8% share, widening the gap with #2 Mercedes (-10%). Audi (+3.5%) overtakes BMW (-14.2%) to step onto the podium while Peugeot (+20.8%) posts the largest gain in the Top 10 but stays in 5th place. Opel (+13%) is also in great shape at #7 but all remaining Top 10 brands are in negative: Renault (-15.7%), Skoda (-14%), Hyundai (-11.3%) and Fiat (-9.6%) all slide. Below, notice Polestar (+191.2%), Cupra (+60.7%), Toyota (+26%) and Dacia (+22.3%), Porsche (+8.9%) all posting very sold gains.
In the models ranking, the Peugeot 208 (+31.1%) topples long-standing best-seller the VW Golf (+12.7%) while the Fiat 500 (+63.5%) roars into the Top 10 directly at #3. The Audi A3 (+24.2%) and Opel Corsa (+49.7%) complete the Top 5 just as the Peugeot 308 (+163.7%) soars to #7 thanks to the new generation.
