If you’re a runner, you already know it — pounding pavement can be a profoundly spiritual act. But just how powerful can such a simple thing be? Can something like a marathon help even the most seemingly lost souls find their way back to the light?

That’s the premise of 26.2 to Life, a forthcoming documentary produced by HOKA. The film covers three inmates — all serving time in San Quentin for murder — as they train for and compete in 26.2 miles’ worth of laps around the prison yard.

If that sounds like a heck of a hook, you’re right. Check out this trailer to learn more, and then head to the film’s website for information on virtual and in-person tickets. The film premiered in select theaters on September 22 (New York, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Seattle, and Milwaukee) and is available digitally from September 29 through October 1, 2023.

Don’t miss it.

Runtime: 2 minutes (trailer)
