The Experience
Philadelphia’s massive Puerto Rican Day Parade is one of the city’s oldest and largest outdoor events celebrating Puerto Rican and Latino heritage. The theme for this year’s parade: “A celebration of Latino culture in the heart of the vity.”
The energetic parade features marching bands, Latin music and poetry, vibrant dance performances, baton units and drill teams, motorcades (often including floats, antique cars or other decorated vehicles), and, of course, plenty of flag-waving.
The procession attracts over 1,500 parade marchers, including artists, musicians and dancers, alongside reps from community organizations, schools, youth groups, corporate sponsors and more, all showcasing Puerto Rican and Latino pride. More than 5,000 spectators and nearly 100,000 viewers watching live on TV cheer them on.
Spectators can enjoy the revelry, check out resource booths, or purchase food and merch from the local vendors sprinkled all along the Parkway.
