Xiaomi Buds 3 Pro Review: Affordable Xiaomi earbuds
Redmi is a globally recognized brand known for its budget-friendly and mid-range devices. Despite being cheaper than its flagship brand, Redmi offers more features and performance at a lower price.
Recently, the company released new TWS Bluetooth earbuds equipped with wireless charging and noise canceling. So I’ve tried them to test the Redmi Buds 3 Pro signal-to-noise ratio.
Build & Design
The Xiaomi Redmi features a small spherical frame, and the exterior surface has a touch-sensitive panel, giving control access. Also, the case has a pill-shaped charging port with a matte yet soft-to-touch finish, making it easier to grip.
The case housed a 470mAh battery, promising much power and capacity to fully recharge the buds more than four times at one charge. It has a USB-C on the case’s lower edge and is rechargeable using a Qi wireless charging pad.
The buds lay comfortably in the ear and are compactly built. Moreover, it allows simultaneous connection between two devices and includes three sizes of silicon tips in the box. When you take off bud, it automatically pauses and has an IPX4 rating, making it ideal for gym sessions or light rains.
Redmi Buds 3 Pro Features & Sound Quality
Whether tech-savvy or not, the Redmi Buds 3 Pro is easy to use. You have two options to connect the buds to your device, remove the buds from the case or hold down the pairing button.
Audio & Noise Canceling
The buds are equipped with 9mm vibrating diaphragm coil speakers and three microphones, allowing you to receive and make calls. If you’re into music, the Redmi Buds 3 Pro also offers a satisfactory experience.
It has a good volume and decent frequency separation, offering a steady and pleasant sound. The standard setting has two modes, Active Noise Cancellation, and Dual Transparency, allowing you to hear the minimal outside sound without removing the earbuds.
The noise cancelation does a decent job, enough to minimize loud noise but not entirely omit the world distractions. But the downside is that additional modes are only accessible by Xiaomi and Redmi phone users.
In addition, the buds feature Adaptive Noise Cancellation and offer quality calls. However, it has small apertures, so you should expect the loud environment sounds are still present.
Redmi Buds 3 Pro Controls
The Redmis Buds 3 Pro has the same controls on either bud, so using it is very simple. Tap twice to play or pause tracks and answer an incoming call. Tap thrice to reject a call or skip to the next track. To switch the noise cancellation modes, press or hold down one bud for one to two seconds.
Battery Life
Based on Xiamoi, the buds can last up to 6 hours on a single charge, given the noise canceling is off and the volume is 50%. When I tried it, I turned on the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and it lasted over 4 hours, the same with other buds I’ve tested.
Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro Price & Availability
The Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro is priced at £69.99 directly from their site and around US$76.97 from Amazon US. For those in the Philippines, it’s cheaper if you buy it at their Shopee official store here.
Also, it’s available in Glacier Gray and Graphite Black.
Xiaomi the Redmi Buds 3 Pro is a decent find for a reasonable price. It boasts a stylishly comfy design with handy features, like the dual-device connection. The downside is it lacks volume controls, and non-Xiaomi/Redmi users can only access two modes.
Nonetheless, it has an in-ear detection feature and a decent battery that charges fast using its wireless charging. If you’re looking for wireless earbuds with many features, like noise cancellation, the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro is for you.
