CWT plans to expand over the next three months its Finnair New Distribution Capability content in Finland and the other Nordic countries of Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland, the travel management company announced Tuesday.
Finnair removed its last remaining domestic itineraries from EDIFACT in February, and at that time more than 90 percent of CWT’s customers in Finland already were booking that content via NDC-enabled channels using Amadeus’ Cytric online booking tool and through agency-assisted channels, according to CWT.
The TMC also will use its Finnair NDC deployment “as a blueprint to expand our NDC capabilities with other airlines around the world,” CWT VP of product management, travel content and connectivity Erik Magnuson said in a statement.
To start, that means expanded NDC coverage in the Nordics to include additional routes, airlines and points of sale, according to CWT.
The TMC now offers NDC content through the Cytric, Concur, Serko and GetThere OBTs, with content being sourced via Amadeus, Sabre and Travelfusion, according to CWT. The company “intends to build on that momentum through 2024,” with NDC deployments for more airlines and markets in the pipeline.
